Let’s Bake or maybe not!

Hey guys, so it’s another Wednesday and Festive Season which also means indulge in all the food season is here. All the pastries and good food, time to put on some weight and be guilt free at least till first week in January.

In the midst of it all I attempted to bake cookies as a first timer.

Ingredients
- Flour
- Sugar
- Baking soda
- Salt
- Butter
- Egg
- Flavour (butterscotch)
- Chocolate pieces
- Marshmallows

Directions;
Mix the butter and sugar in a bowl until smooth

Add the eggs one after the other into the bowl, add the flavour also

Mix the flour, baking soda and some salt in another bowl and pour in the dough

Add the chocolate and marshmallows

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes

Sounds simple yeah, especially if you are baking it for the first time like myself, so I thought till I attempted it. I miscalculated and left the cookies in the oven for 15 mins and another 5 minutes as it still felt soft, note that’s part of the process, the fact that it’s soft doesn’t mean that it hasn’t cooked. It has o! Turn it off and bring it out to cool and it will harden up.

I have attached the photos so laugh and shake your head, as I was pained and couldn’t stop laughing at myself also.

I repeat bring it out after 12 minutes otherwise it will be a different story.

I will attempt it again before the holiday is over and should do better.

Another thing that crossed my mind after I started baking was I should have kept some of the dough aside to avoid mistakes like this, so when baking yours do it in 2 sets so you can learn from the first if there’s any mistakes.

I quickly prepared a new mix but it wasn’t the same as the first one, I had kids waiting to taste
the cookies and didn’t want to disappoint them, yes so into the bin it went.

*sobs*

First one I baked, Yummy and crunchy but burnt
