I have been using Mac for the last 6 years or so and I have thrown out every single empty content, as I didn't see the point keeping it as a souvenir. Little did I know that I was so wrong for doing this. Wanna find out how I knew this? Yes, yes I know u want to and need more information lol.
So, During my holiday to America last month, I went into a Mac store in Macy's, you know Mac is kinda cheaper in America so I always try to buy more products from them when I travel to America. Well to an extent its not like it's cheaper because America never includes tax on their products on the shelf's, people like us calculate as we pick (money must be managed) so imagine picking all you want and saying to yourself that you will be spending $150 and getting to the counter and you are told the total is $180 and you are like what! How come! Well that's America for you unlike UK where u know how much you will be paying the moment you pick up the item. So on that note, Americans! Please stop confusing us visitors from other countries with the hidden tax! *Straight-face*
OK! back to the Mac recycle scheme. I was doing my shopping when this lady came with a bag full of empty Mac products and trust me as a proper Nigerian I wanted to see what was going on and I saw her leave with 3 lipsticks.. Yes 3 lipsticks for free. So I asked, what's going on I need to understand and she explained to me that for every six (6) product you return you get a free lipstick. And suddenly I had a flash back on all the Mac empty contents I have been throwing away, Imagine the number of free lipsticks I would have gotten over the years. (I was pained *dries imaginary tears*) the Funny thing is now that I know I'm struggling to gather 6 empty products so I can go get the free lipstick. I will get there sha I believe lol.
The good thing about the recycle scheme is that it's world wide so anywhere you have a Mac store you can recycle and get the lipstick of your choice.
