DEPRESSION: We All Shy Away From Admitting It..... Dealing With It

I have always wanted to talk about issues that weigh and trouble people the most and sometimes they do not understand why, and because no one trusts the society we live in as they say "sharing your problem to someone? you better of telling it to the whole world" and most people will rather stay silent till it leads to a point where they cannot handle it alone anymore and start to contemplate the worse situations like Suicide.  One of the issue is DEPRESSION! Yes I said it Depression and don't start to shy away from reading this because you are scared the symptoms will start pointing it's arrows at you because you have 80% of them. At some point in our lives when have experienced frustration and depression, some people have been lucky enough to overcome it while others are still struggling with it. The worse part of it is we all walk about our busy lives smiling like we are happy and have a perfect life and when we have our alone time, we only worry about what we are going through without looking for answers or ways to overcome them.
I am going to be using the word Depression because we are shying away from it and I mean a lot of it, because I want it to keep ringing in the heads of my readers, that way they are able to know that this aint no ordinary situation.
A research I made online shows that depression affects nearly one in six people at some point in their lives, depression can destroy careers as it creeps up gradually into hobbies, relationships and every area of our lives. When unhappiness lasts more than two weeks, it may be a sign of depression. People who are depressed often find it difficult to concentrate and make decisions. They turn away from previously enjoyable activities, including sex. In severe cases, depression can become life-threatening.  It's often first noticed in the late teens or 20's, Although many teens are moody, argumentative, and intrigued by "the dark side," prolonged sadness or irritability is not normal for teens, some signs of depression in a teenage includes: being constantly sad or irritable even with friends, taking no pleasure in favorite activities, or a sudden drop in grades. But sometimes it can develop at any age. Tough personal experiences can trigger depression, or it may develop out of the blue. Depressed people cry a lot, although some people don't cry or even act terribly sad when they're depressed, instead they are emotionally "blank" and may feel worthless or useless. Even without dramatic symptoms, depression prevents people from living life to its fullest, which no one wants.. we all want to have fun, be happy, successful and enjoy life, but when you are depressed how do you intend to achieve that? No way! Trust me.
Men are less likely than women to talk about their feelings and some depressed men don't appear sad or down. Instead, men may be irritable, angry, or restless. wondering why your partner is never happy with you?, and just acts like he is bored of you. it could be he is going through a tough stage of depression and rather that share his problems with you or someone that can help, he keeps it to himself and takes out the anger on you, may even lash out at friends and family. Some men may not even take it out on you but try to cope with their depression through reckless behavior, drinking, or drugs... LOL, Not funny I know!
Some of the symptoms of depression which I was reading about online and also personal experiences from friends and loved ones are, Emotional Symptoms which is a sad mood and/or loss of interest in life. Activities that were once pleasurable, you suddenly start to lose interest in them, remember how you used to laugh at any joke you hear and all of a sudden you don't feel interested in them anymore, that's depression setting in, sometimes you may also be haunted or troubled by a sense of guilt or feeling worthlessness, lack of hope. Joblessness also has a massive impact on depression, I know that feeling of after studying for years, you cannot even secure a proper job and apply to every company and agency you can think of and don't get a job, all of this keeps bringing recurring thoughts of death or suicide.

The physical symptoms of depression include Fatigue and decreased energy, Insomnia: Having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, those moments when you are like common! all you evil thoughts and stress of the day get out of my head and then when you manage to sleep at 4am you realize you are up at 5am, how annoying can that be, some people sleep excessively tho.. I will say lucky them... lol, also Persistent aches or pains because these two conditions share chemical messengers in the brain., headaches, fatigue and exhaustion cramps, or digestive problems and nausea, Some people lose their appetite when they feel depressed. Others can't stop eating, lucky them again.. I know I'm sounding annoying already, well it soothes their frustration or misery, it also affects you sexually, taking away your interest in sex and emotions.

Ok! Finally the best ways to deal with depression is by exercising because it takes you mind away from every other thing and helps your brain, which makes you feel good, Keep in mind that if you're depressed, it can be hard to get the energy to keep exercising. But know that exercise can improve energy, ease fatigue, and help you sleep better. choose an exercise you enjoy, for best result exercise with others, improve on your hobbies you have abandoned or discover new ones. Hope for better days, read inspirational books and listen to songs that you enjoy, join a club or social group and become actively involved, or volunteer with a charity, meet new people and try new things that will help you feel good about yourself. Keep friends and families in your life, and have a drink a walk or go see a movie together, change your diet, and even playing with a pet can improve your mood, drink less caffeine, Do you really need that second or third cup of coffee? No, a glass of water or juice can fill in for that. Get the healthy sleep you need by going to bed and getting up the same time each day keeping to one sleep pattern, putting positive thoughts in your head before you sleep. finally avoid drugs and excessive alcohol and with all this trust me you will feel better about life. Wish you the best and the strength to get over whatever you may be going through.  I hope this has been helpful and please share it because you never know who might need it. Cheers :)
