So I woke up with what you can
call a different perspective to life. Well, I always do. And don’t call me a
confused person LOL.. Guess I always go to sleep with an open mind. Some people
will call this waking up on the wrong side of the bed, even though I didn't wake up feeling
cranky or upset. I guess I just woke up differently, but then again I remember
my Pastor will say there is nothing like the different side or wrong side of
the bed. Every side of the bed is perfect, it only depends on how you plan to
see life.
So, I started thinking of how far
I have come with life, what I have gone through, the things I plan to achieve,
what I have achieved and how long it has taken me to get to this point in my
life. It might not be as fast paced as I would have wanted it to be but again
it’s not the slowest I have seen. I know it’s taking forever but I believe I
will get there in due time.
Have you ever sat down and thought
your life is not going as planned and you’re telling yourself STOP?!!! Because
you realized you are threading on the path that doesn't seem right? Do friends,
course mates, colleagues and your family look at you like you are a loser, a
waste? Or do some even advise you to give up whatever you are doing before you
make it or become good at anything you try to do? Or do you feel left alone and
abandoned because some of the people you call best friends have left you
because you do not seem to be in their league anymore? Do most of your mates
already have good jobs and are earning good money and you are still struggling
to finish your education, get a job or get your life in order?
It’s not too late to start your
life afresh. Obviously, I don’t mean like going back to pre-school, but
thinking of possible ways to work it out. Instead, sit down like an adult and
ask yourself where do I want to be? How do I plan to get there? How do I take steps
and what methods do I use to achieve this? You can like to call this SWOT: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities,
and Threats and just make a list and put them in the appropriate place.
Planning to achieve all this cannot all be done once; you have to take it one
step at a time. You could also plan your career; something to inspire you. Think
of where you were 5 years ago and where you want to be in 5 years’ time, what
you have achieved so far and what you look forward to achieving in life. One
thing you have to remember always is, someone somewhere looks up to you, even
though you may think you are useless to yourself and not know this, but it
should help you stay focused and strong.
Finally
learn to speak to people who will tell you the honest truth about yourself and how
you can be a better person. The truth makes us uncomfortable but it definitely helps.
And please, make sure they are friends who won’t go about telling the world
your story. Do not lose hope, stay strong and you will achieve all you ever
dreamed of.
Food for thought:
*Do not end up
with a life you will regret the rest of your life*
